Society seems stuck between an economic and an ecological crisis. The essayistic film tries to capture the simultaneity of acceleration and standstill as a feeling.

Changing the global climate using technology - what was still fiction in Jules Verne's novel "The Purchase of the North Pole" has now become part of the climate discourse under the name of geoengineering. At a time when humans have long since created the means to destroy their own livelihoods, this discourse calls back fears that were thought to have been lost. In a fictional scenario, the film explores the risks of such large-scale projects with global consequences.
